Introduction
SiteMinder Exchange (SMX) is a middleware layer that connects your Property Management System to Bookboost. Once connected, reservation data flows automatically from your PMS into Bookboost, so you can automate guest communication without manual work. This article explains what you need and the steps to complete on your side.
What SiteMinder Exchange is
SMX sits between your PMS and applications like Bookboost. In SMX terms, the Publisher is your PMS and the Application is Bookboost. Once activated, SMX pushes new reservations from your PMS to Bookboost. This is a one-way, inbound connection: reservation data flows into Bookboost, and Bookboost does not send data back to SiteMinder.
Before you start
An active SiteMinder account.
Your PMS must be supported by SiteMinder Exchange. Check SiteMinder's connected hotel systems list.
Your Application Property Code, which Bookboost Support provides. This is your unique integration reference.
Activating the connection
Go to the activation form at activation.siteminder.services.
Fill in the fields: Application Property Code (the code from Bookboost Support), Property Publisher Name (the name of your PMS), and Application Name (enter Bookboost).
Submit the form. You receive a request number.
Share the request number with Bookboost Support so we can confirm your property with SiteMinder's activation team.
Once SiteMinder verifies the details, the connection is activated.
Double-check the Application Property Code before submitting. An incorrect code means the form has to be filled in again.
Importing your reservation history
On activation, SiteMinder can push a flush of past reservations, by default the last six months and extendable on request. The period is based on each reservation's booking creation date, so it can include future reservations booked in that window. After the flush, only new reservations are synced.
Configuration and Setup
Bookboost provides your Application Property Code and completes the setup on its side once SiteMinder activates the connection.
