Introduction
The Shiji integration covers guest communication and segmentation from live Shiji data, but there are things it does not do. Knowing them upfront is more useful than discovering them mid rollout. This article lists the current limitations and the operational points worth planning around.
One-way integration
The Shiji integration is one-way: data flows from Shiji into Bookboost. Bookboost does not write data back to Shiji. Guest details captured or edited in Bookboost, and form submissions, are not sent to Shiji, so Shiji stays the master record and any changes to a booking are made in Shiji.
Bookers are not synced
Bookboost syncs the primary, secondary, and debtor guest types from Shiji, but not the booker. A booker who is not also the primary guest does not receive communications from Bookboost; communications go to the primary guest.
Data not currently synced
Loyalty membership is not synced from Shiji.
Daily rate breakdown (per-night pricing) is not synced.
Folios are not currently synced.
Bookboost Insights
Availability data for Shiji is still being improved, so adjusted occupancy in Bookboost Insights may be incomplete for Shiji properties.
Configuration and Setup
These points apply once the Shiji integration is active. To connect a property, see Setting up the Shiji integration; for what the integration does, see What the Shiji integration does.
