Meta reviews templates with automated systems, so rejections are common and they are rarely explained. The decision is entirely Meta's, and Bookboost cannot influence, appeal, or hurry it. What you can do is write the template so that it passes the first time, and know what to do when it does not.
Two consequences of an automated review worth knowing before you start:
The same template can be approved in one language and rejected in another. Each language is reviewed separately.
Categories are checked too. A template whose content does not match the category it was submitted under gets rejected on that basis alone.
Six things that get templates approved
1. Give the template a descriptive name. "template_014" tells the reviewer nothing. "Your reservation online check-in details" tells it exactly what the message is for. The name is never shown to your guests, so it costs you nothing to make it explicit.
2. Use single line breaks. Break the content up, but never two blank lines in a row. Doubled line breaks are one of the two things that make a template fail silently.
3. Do not submit an exact copy of an existing template, including one belonging to another property in your account. Identical content is refused. Change the wording and it can go again.
4. Do not ask for sensitive information. No credit card numbers, bank details, ID numbers, or passport numbers. Contact details and arrival times are fine.
5. Do not use URL shorteners. bit.ly, TinyURL, goo.gl and the like hide where a link goes, and Meta treats that as a reason to refuse.
6. Stay inside the Commerce Policy. If you mention a product or service, Meta reads everything you say about it, including prices, fees, taxes, and legal terms. See the WhatsApp Commerce Policy.
Checking and syncing your templates
Open WhatsApp Templates from the menu at the top right of your campaigns.
The window shows each template's status in every language, the category it went in under, and a way to resubmit it.
Sync pulls the current status from Meta.
If a template shows no title after syncing, the template itself is broken. It is one of two things: doubled line breaks, or more than 1,024 characters. Fix whichever it is and submit for approval again.
If your template is rejected
Every template is submitted as UTILITY by default. That is the cheaper category, and it is also the stricter one: anything that reads as promotional is refused. So the first thing to try is not rewriting, it is resubmitting under the other category.
In the WhatsApp Templates window, select the REJECTED label on the template.
The template is sent for approval again automatically, this time under MARKETING.
If it is rejected under MARKETING as well, the content itself is the problem, and you need to edit the campaign to comply with the guidelines above.
Marketing messages cost more than Utility ones. Moving a template across is not a free fix, and doing it to every rejected template will show up on your bill. Meta publishes the rates on its WhatsApp pricing page. See also WhatsApp template categories: Utility and Marketing.
If the status says Missing
Meta has not returned a decision yet, so there is nothing to report. Wait, then select Sync again.
If it still says Missing 24 hours later, after a sync, contact support. That is long enough that something has gone wrong rather than slowly.
What this does not do
It does not guarantee approval. These guidelines improve the odds. Meta decides.
Bookboost cannot appeal a rejection or find out why one happened. We see the same status you do.
Moving to MARKETING is not a rewrite. If the content breaks the Commerce Policy, the category will not save it.
Approval does not carry across languages. Each language is reviewed on its own.
An approved template can be reviewed again later. Meta can withdraw approval at any time.
