If Bookboost messages reach your phone minutes after they arrive in the Unified Inbox, the delay is almost always your phone's battery and data saving settings rather than Bookboost. Android pauses background activity for apps it thinks you are not using, and that pause holds up notifications. The settings below switch those restrictions off.

Adaptive Battery watches which apps you use and only lets your frequent ones run in the background. It saves battery, but it delays notifications from anything it decides is infrequent.

Battery saver limits what apps do in the background, so they stop fetching new data while you are not looking at them.

Data saver does the same thing to your internet connection. Bookboost needs a connection to deliver a notification, so turn this off too.

Wi-Fi power saving mode drops your Wi-Fi connection now and then to save power, which delays anything waiting to arrive.

Adaptive Notifications sorts your notifications by how important it judges them to be. That sorting has been linked to delays on Android.

Do Not Disturb can run on a schedule you set months ago and forgot. While it is on, every alert is silenced, which looks exactly like a delay.

Samsung Galaxy phones put unused apps to sleep. A sleeping app cannot deliver a notification until you open it manually.

If notifications are still slow after all of the above, clear the cached data.
