This screen is designed to show all items that are "Ready to dispense" in your pharmacy. It includes both monthly and interim items.
Filters
This screen can be filtered to show interim, monthly or all items via drug classification and by Care Home. Filtering the screen can be completed by clicking on the relevant tabs within the two filter panels located at the top of the screen.
If you want to view all the items ready to dispense for all homes, click All.
If you want to view interim items for all homes, click Interims. Alternatively if you want to focus on only interims for one particular home select the relevant home and click Interims.
[An interim is an item that is needed outside of the monthly order for the Care Home]
If you want to filter all items ready for dispensing for a particular home, select the tick box next to the home name.
Monthly items can also be filtered by Standard, Fridge, Special Items and CD drug classification.
Batches
Batches are created once you have selected the items you want to dispense, these can be spilt into batches which contain all items displayed or individual items.
If you want to dispense all items displayed on screen, click Select All then Dispense selected items.
If you want to dispense a individual item displayed on screen, select the tick box on the left hand side of the screen to highlight the item then click Dispense selected items.
Picking Labels
Once the items have been selected and you have clicked Dispense select items a picking label will print. Picking labels list all of the items needed to be picked prior to labelling for each patient.
Each picking label has a bar code, on scanning this bar code you will be taken to the relevant Batch.
Batches
Scanning your picking label will produce the on screen batch for the relevant patient, its from the batch screen the labelling process will be completed. To produce a dispensing label you will be required to scan the manufacturers bar code, then attach the dispensing label to the corresponding pack. This is process is called barcode validation.
If the manufacturers bar code is not available to scan the items can be labelled manually. If you want to label a item manually, highlight the item on screen and then click label located at the bottom. Any items labelled using this process will produces a check at the packaging stage as the bar code validation process has not be completed.
When the labelling process has been completed you will need to close the batch by clicking Completed located at the bottom of the screen. Any items not labelled within the batch at point of closure will be sent to owing.
If the owing items are still not available at the packing stage an owing label can be produced.
