If you receive a One-Time Password (OTP) via SMS or email without trying to log in or make a purchase, it means someone may have your login details and is attempting to access your account.
Step 1: Take immediate action
Do NOT share the code: If anyone calls or messages you asking for this code, hang up immediately. This is a scam.
Block your card: Open the Yonder app and Freeze your card immediately in the 'Card' section.
Change your password: Change your Yonder login password and the password of your linked email account.
Step 2: Report it to us
We take your security very seriously. Please report the incident through our official in-app chat:
Tap the profile icon > Chat with us.
Tell us you received an unsolicited OTP.
If possible, send a screenshot of the message (but make sure to hide the actual code if it’s still valid).
Step 3: Check for "Phishing"
In the Netherlands, scammers often send fake messages that look like they are from ClearBank or Yonder.
Official Source: Yonder only sends OTPs when you are actively performing a sensitive action (like logging in or approving a large payment).
The Link Rule: We will never send you an SMS with a link to a "security portal" or a "verification site." If there is a link in the SMS, do not click it.
Fraudehelpdesk: If you believe you have been a victim of a wider scam, we also recommend reporting the incident to the Fraudehelpdesk.
