Working with the selection tool

Here's how you use the selection tool in Design.

Updated over a week ago

Follow these steps to mark objects in your design geometry:

  1. When marking through the selection tool in Design, the default setting is to mark everything in the geometry, including points, lines, break lines, and triangles. To activate the selection tool select the Selection tool. If you want to change what is included in the selection, go to the right panel and choose OPTIONS. Alternatively, right-click and select Options.

  2. Check or uncheck the object types you want to include in the selection under Multi-select.

  3. To mark objects in the scene, hold down the left mouse button and drag a rectangle over the objects to be included in the selection. The shortcut to activate selection tool is holding down Ctrl for example when having the Line or Point active.

  4. To deselect objects, hold down Shift and drag a selection over the objects you do not want to include.
