Move Tool

Here's how to use the move tool to change the position of selected objects in the X, Y, and Z axes.

Updated over a week ago

Follow these steps to change the position of selected objects in the scene:

  1. Click on the object you want to move.

  2. Select the Move tool. An XYZ axis is displayed in the scene to indicate the axes along which you can move the object. By default, the axis is displayed at the object's center point. A tip is to use the scaling tool for IFC, DAE, and GLB models to more easily move the model to a flight if available.

  3. Right-clicking on the model provides several options:

    • Set Pivot Point: This option allows you to determine the center point for the movement. Right-click on a point in the model and select Set Pivot Point.

    • Center Pivot Point: This option centers the pivot point in the object.

    • Move to Coordinate: This option moves the object to a new coordinate. The pivot point will be used for the movement.
This option is very useful if you have objects like dae, design, or pdfs that cannot be focused on.

  4. To change the pivot point, right-click on a point in the object and select Set Pivot Point. The XYZ axis will then move to the new pivot point.

  5. Use the mouse pointer to drag the axis you wish to move the object along. If you want to freely move in a plane, click on the square in the axis and drag the model to the desired position.

  6. Save the movement by right-clicking outside of the object.
