See the slope to the next point

Here's how you can use the measurement tool to see the slope to the next point (in percentage and degrees).

Updated over a week ago

Follow these steps to see the slope on a line to the next point:

  1. Start the Measurement tool or begin a new design using the Design tool.

  2. Place the mouse pointer in the scene and note the Slope to Next Point field displayed in the information panel. Before clicking on a starting point in the measurement, the slope is 0, but the value will be updated after the starting point is placed. If the slope is negative, a minus sign will appear before the value.

  3. Click on a starting point for the measurement. You will now see that the slope value has been updated, and the current value is displayed as you move the mouse pointer in the scene.

A tip when using the measurement tool with object snapping is to reduce the opacity of your model, such as a LandXML file, to see the lines created by the measurement tool. The lines may not be visible as they use the same elevation value as the model.
