Create a Comment with Linked Files

Here, we demonstrate how to create a comment for a specific point in SkyView and link files to it.

Updated over a week ago

Follow these steps to create a comment:

  1. Click on the Comment tool.

  2. Move the mouse cursor over the screen and left-click on the desired position.

  3. Once you have clicked on the position, a dialog NEW COMMENT box appears where you can enter Name, Text, and Files.

  4. To link files to the position, click on Choose files.

  5. The Select Files dialog appears, allowing you to link files from the File Manager. Here, you can select uploaded files in folders or upload a new file to link it to the comment. You can only choose files from one folder at a time, so if you want to select files from multiple folders, this must be done in stages.

  6. Select the files you want to link in a folder and click on button Choose.

  7. Under Files, you see a list of all linked files. If you want to remove a linked file from the comment, click on the trash bin. This deletes the file from the comment but not from the File Manager. For some file formats such as PDF, JPG, or PNG, these can be opened to view in a new browser tab.

  8. Save by clicking Save.

  9. In the object list on the left, you will find the comment, and under Files, you can see all linked files.
