This functionality provides an efficient way to inspect models, such as when a finished terrain/machine model has been created/modified.

You have two options for uploading CAD files to SkyView. The first option is to upload the files in the project's File Manager. A quicker alternative is to upload your files directly from SkyView.

Follow these steps to add a file in the File Manager and then view it in SkyView:

  1. Go to the project's File Manager.

  2. Navigate to the folder where you want to upload CAD files or have files that you want to add for viewing in SkyView.

  3. If the new files are from the computer, click the Upload Files button in the toolbar and add the .pdf, .dwg, .dxf, .xml, .geo, .dae, .ifc, and .glb files you want to visualize in SkyView. You can upload multiple files at once if desired.

  4. Choose if the files should have any associated information. These fields will be visible in SkyView for the file in the object list on the left.

  5. Click Start Upload.

  6. Once the files are uploaded or if you already have uploaded files you want to view in SkyView, check the boxes for the files you want to display in SkyView and click Add to SkyView.

  7. In the column with the drone icon, it indicates whether the file has been added to SkyView or not.

  8. Go to SkyView and expand the CAD category. Find the file you want to view and click the eye icon to display it. If you don't see the file, try clicking Focus to center the camera on the file.

  9. By default, the latest uploaded version of an added CAD file is always displayed. To view another version of the file, click on the version dropdown menu.

Follow these steps to add a CAD file directly in SkyView and view it:

  1. Go to SkyView.

  2. In SkyView, in the object list to the left click the Open File Manager button in the object list on the left.

  3. A shortcut to the project's file manager is displayed. In the window that opens, the project's folder structure is shown.

  4. If the new files are from the computer, click the Upload Files button in the toolbar and add the .pdf, .dwg, .dxf, .xml, .geo, .ifc, or .glb files you want to visualize in SkyView.

  5. Choose if the files should have any associated information. These fields will be visible in SkyView for the file in the object list on the left.

  6. Click Start Upload.

  7. Once the files are uploaded or if you already have uploaded files you want to view in SkyView, check the boxes for the files you want to display in SkyView and click Add to SkyView.

  8. In the column with the drone icon, it indicates whether the file has been added to SkyView or not.

  9. Close the dialog by clicking Close.

  10. When you have added a CAD file, it is listed under the CAD heading and grouped under the folder it is in.

  11. To view a CAD file, click on the icon representing a closed eye.
