How do I check if a recipient has opened their voucher?

How to check the status of vouchers you've sent, what each status means, and what to do if a voucher hasn't been opened.

Each voucher you send shows a status that updates automatically as your recipient interacts with the link. The current status is visible directly on the Links tab of your Voucher History page.

How to check a voucher's status

  1. Go to your Voucher History page from the left hand menu. The page opens on the Links tab by default, which is where you'll find each individual voucher and its current status.

  2. Use the search bar to find the voucher. You can search by:

    • Link code - the last 16 digits of the voucher URL.

    • Recipient email or mobile number - this returns every link sent to that contact.

  3. Look at the Link status column to see the current status.

For an order-level view, click the Orders tab at the top of the page.

Has my recipient opened their voucher?

The Link status column tells you exactly where your recipient is in the process:

  • Sent or Created - they haven't clicked the link yet

  • Opened - they've clicked the link and opened the page, but haven't yet generated their voucher

  • Redeemed - they've generated their voucher (note: this means generated, not necessarily spent at a till)

For a full breakdown of every possible status - including Scheduled, Cancelled and Expired - and how funds and expiry dates work, see: Understanding link statuses.

If a voucher hasn't been opened

If a voucher has been showing as Sent or Created for a while, your recipient may not have received it. Common reasons include:

  • The email landed in their spam or junk folder

  • The contact details entered when sending were incorrect

  • Their email provider or workplace IT has blocked the message
