Why has the Huel Black Edition RTD recipe changed?
Huel Black Edition RTD (Ready-to-Drink) is moving production from Germany to North America to support a more efficient and sustainable supply chain — reducing the distance the product travels to reach North American customers. As part of this transition, Huel has updated the recipe to improve taste, texture, and consistency.
What has changed?
Improved texture and flavor: Updated pea protein with the addition of brown rice protein for a smoother, better-tasting drink
Creamier taste: MCT oil powder replaced with coconut milk powder
Improved consistency: Canola oil replaced with high-oleic sunflower oil
Smoother, cleaner sweetness: Updated form of stevia for a more balanced overall flavor
What are the nutritional changes?
Huel Black Edition RTD will still deliver 35g of protein and 27 vitamins and minerals per serving. The changes are:
Calories: Updated from 400 to 390 kcal per bottle — updated testing showed the average calorie content is closer to 390, so the packaging has been updated to reflect this accurately
Fat, carbohydrates, fiber, and sugar: Approximately 1g reduction in each
Vitamins and minerals: Small changes to some amounts — check packaging for full Nutrition Facts once you receive the new recipe
When does the new recipe roll out?
