How to manage a Route

Updated yesterday

The Route planning solution allows you to create, modify, and manage routes for drivers or vehicles. Depending on the communication type selected, you will see either drivers or vehicles available for planning.

Create a new Route

Choose one of the drivers/vehicles from the list and click on it. You will be redirected to the next list from where choose + New route to start planning a route.

A new route with no order data will be created and displayed in the list of routes.

Name the Route

The name of the route is assigned automatically and has a counting number assigned by the platform, however, the name can be modified at any time.

Click on the name of the route. Type in the text you would like. Point the mouse elsewhere on the screen and the new name will be saved.

Assign a Vehicle

πŸ“˜ Relevant only when communication in Route planning is configured by driver.

Click Select vehicle and choose one from the list. Use the search box to faster find a unit you are looking for.

πŸ”” The vehicle will be automatically attached to all new routes based on the settings of previous routes. Make sure to double-check this value and modify it if needed.

Click on the attached vehicle, delete the unit and point the mouse elsewhere. The vehicle will then be removed.

πŸ“˜ Until a particular vehicle is assigned to a route, the route planning and navigation display on the map are based on the driving restrictions and limits for a vehicle (passenger car): its settings are considered as default by the platform. Vehicle selection may significantly impact the total distance and duration of the route.

Set Start and End addresses

Enter the start address, time and date to calculate PTA (planned time of arrival). Without entering this data, PTA will be calculated from the moment the driver starts the route.

πŸ“˜ The start/end address can be sent to the Driver app so that freight truck drivers can navigate to the final location as well as navigate to the exact starting location (if needed). Start and end addresses don't have statuses (like order addresses) so it's not possible to start/complete them.

To enter the start/end address for the first time simply click on it.

Find the necessary address and enter the date and time.

To save or cancel the changes use the relevant buttons.

To edit or delete the start/end address use the menu button on the right.

Add a stop

Click +Add address to enter a stop for the route. The stop will be created as a new visit order.

The address/order can be edited or deleted by clicking on the menu button on the right.

The navigation button also can be used to add pick-up/delivery or visit orders.

When the address is added, the information about the length of the route, PTA from the previous point and address will be displayed.

πŸ“˜ In order to get the PTAs, the starting address, starting time and date must be added. Otherwise, PTAs will be calculated only at the moment when the driver changes the status of the first address in route to Started.

In the header of the route, the total mileage, estimated time and number of pick-up/delivery or visit addresses will be displayed. The calculations take into account all addresses you add to the route.

βœ… The address also can be imported to the platform.

Edit or Delete the Route

Change the driver/vehicle for the route.

πŸ“˜ Route modifications are available only for routes where none of the addresses has been started yet, namely all addresses in the route are in 'Unplanned' or 'Planned' status only. In case the address on a route has already started, its possible to edit the route by deleting all unnecessary data and orders/addresses that haven't been started yet from it.

To delete a route, in the menu, choose Delete route.

Copy the Route

You can create a copy of the whole route. All information included will be copied. All addresses on a copy of the initial route will have the 'Unplanned' status and the newly created route will not have start and end times copied. Any modifications are available.
