You can use the Shape tools to represent your in-ground beds. To open the Shapes selector, click on the circle, square and triangle button just below the Garden Objects cube button. Choose the color, shape, and line width you want to use, then click on your plan where you want your bed to be.
Click on and drag the shape's corner handles to pull it out to the size you need.
