If you’ve received your Test Record and would like to update the audio, artwork, or track listing, you’ll need to create a new version of the Release.
Once a Release is locked, it cannot be fundamentally edited. This is because each locked Release is assigned a unique EAN (barcode), which identifies that exact product version.
You can watch a step-by-step tutorial on how to make changes after receiving your test record here:
What Can Be Edited Without Cloning?
After locking, you can still edit:
Price Category
Territory availability
Limited Edition size
Release Date
Notes
Audio, artwork, track order, and core metadata cannot be changed.
How to Make Audio or Artwork Changes (Clone Method)
Go to the Releases page.
Click Edit.
Click the Clone icon next to your Release.
Select the format (if prompted).
Make your updates in the Tracks and/or Artwork tabs.
Review all Metadata.
Lock the new version.
A new EAN will automatically be issued to the cloned version.
What Happens to the Old Version?
Once your corrected version is ready:
Attach it to your Release Group
Retire the previous version
Delete it if no longer needed
Important
Any Test Records already produced cannot be altered. Your updated version will apply to all future orders.
