A2 Certificate of Competency (A2 CofC) Renewals
If your A2CofC certification has already expired then you cannot renew your A2CofC and will have to purchase a full course.
If you have under 6 months validity on your A2CofC you can renew.
All remote pilots renewing an A2CofC must make a declaration of competence and provide the following evidence.
Proof of Identity
Current A2CofC Certificate
Valid Flyer ID
Flight Logs that demonstrate all elements of the practical self-learning building blocks conducted within the last 3 months.
After this has been submitted and approved you must then take an A2CofC theory exam.
Pass:
If you pass the A2CofC theory exam, the RAE will then issue a new A2CofC certificate. The renewed A2CofC expiry date will be five years from the date the current one expires.
Fail:
If you fail the theory exam then you must then complete an A2CofC theory course.
If you fail again you must then take the A2CofC theory exam again with an alternate question set (i.e. paper 2) with a maximum of 5 total theory attempts. Each attept is chargeable.
If you fail 5 times, you will need to purchase a full A2CofC course and complete it as standard.
