Your GVC can be renewed with any RAE. To renew your GVC must still have less than 6 months validity. If it has expired you will need to do the full GVC again.
To renew your GVC you must retake the GVC exam. If you pass the exam you must submit below.
If you fail the theory exam then you must then complete a GVC theory course.
You must then take the GVC theory exam again with an alternate question set (i.e. paper 2) with a maximum of 5 total theory attempts. If you pass the exam you must submit below.
Flight Logbook
You must show evidence of at least 2 hours of flying in the last 90 days. If theyou hold a GVC certificate for both Multirotor and Fixed Wing, they must show evidence of 2 hours of flying for each type, totalling at least 4 hours.
We recommend using the Coptrz template as the CAA need to see the following info as a minimum
· Date
· Operator name
· Operator ID
· Remote Pilot name
· Flyer ID
· Operating category or authorisation
· Operating location
· Start time
· End time
· UAS type
· UAS make and model
· UAS serial number
· UAS take-off mass
· PDRA01 Authorisation number
· Flight time for this flight
· Cumulative flight time
· Flyer ID - You will need to provide valid Flyer ID that matches the name you are taking the GVC under.
Current GVC Certificate
You will need to provide a current valid GVC Certificate under your name.
Proof of Identification
You will need to provide a valid form of identification such as a driver’s license or passport.
After reviewing your submission the RAE can issue a GVC Renewal. The renewed GVC expiry date will be five years from the date the current one expires.
What happens if I cannot provide all the infomation for the flight logs?
If you can't provide all the information required then then you must take and pass a practical flight assessment before we can issue a new certificate.
Pass
If you pass the practical flight assessment, we will then issue them with a new GVC certificate. The renewed GVC expiry date will be five years from the date the current one expires.
Fail
You must take the practical flight assessment again with maximum of 3 total practical attempts.
If you fail 3 times, you will need to purchase a full GVC course and complete it as standard.
