Dataspaces and Core Services

The Dataspaces View allows users to add and edit dataspaces, while displaying detailed information such as used version and Business Partner Number. This view also allows users to add services to selected dataspaces.

Updated this week

The Dataspaces View provides an interface for managing your dataspaces and services. Here, you can view all existing dataspaces, add or edit them as needed, and configure services for each dataspace. This view simplifies organizing and maintaining your data environments, making it easy to customize and optimize services for your specific needs.

This view displays the following information in each row:

  • Name of the dataspace

  • ID of the dataspace

  • BPN (Business Partner Number)

  • Version of the dataspace

Each dataspace contains core services, which are displayed when the dataspace is expanded.

Use οΉ€ or > to collapse or to expand the dataspace information.

In the context of Cofinity-X, a dataspace is a core concept designed to facilitate secure, standardized, and decentralized data sharing among participants in the automotive value chain.

A Cofinity-X Dataspace operates as a virtual space where data providers and consumers can connect, exchange, and collaborate using agreed-upon standards and protocols without needing a central data repository or platform.

For more information, see What is a Dataspace?

The core services connect your Catena-X Dataspace to your technical users - which you have created in a previous step (see _RS). The core services will enable your Catena-X Dataspace to manage data and assets with the whole Catena-X Network. A core service and its data depend on the submitted technical user.

For example: To share your Catena-X membership information you need to create a technical user "CX Membership". Afterwards, you need to add the core service "MEMBERSHIP" to your Catena-X Dataspace. Finally, you can provide the resulting core service URL to your partners, or you can reuse the core service URL within Dataspace OS to set up other components.
