Every email campaign has a sender address and a reply-to address. An organisation can register addresses on more than one verified domain, and each campaign chooses its own sender and its own reply-to, even when the two are on different domains. A campaign that does not choose keeps the sender already configured for your account.
How it fits together
Domains are added and verified by Bookboost. Only a verified domain can be used for sending.
Addresses are added by you, each on a verified domain. An address is either available to every property or limited to one, and it is marked Selectable as soon as it is added.
Campaigns choose their sender and reply-to from the addresses available to the campaign's property.
How to set this up?
Getting a domain verified. Adding or verifying a domain is not self-service, because it needs DNS records published on your side. Contact your Bookboost contact person or support; see Request your own sending domain for what to send. Your verified domains are listed under Domains on the Email addresses page, and an organisation can have more than one.
Adding an address.
Go to Campaigns > Email addresses.
Select Add address, at the top right.
In Domain, choose one of your verified domains.
In Property, keep All properties to make the address available everywhere, or choose one property to limit the address to it.
In Address, enter the full email address. It must end with the domain you chose.
Select Add address.
The address appears under Addresses, marked Selectable.
Choosing the addresses on a new campaign.
On the Broadcasts page, select + Campaign to open the Create campaign dialog.
Choose the campaign type and the channel.
In Send emails as, choose the address the email is sent from. Replies go to changes to the same address.
If replies should go to a different address, change Replies go to.
Enter a campaign name, choose the property, and select Create campaign.
Leave both fields on App-configured sender to use the sender already configured for your account. The option shows that address in brackets.
Duplicating a campaign. Use Duplicate on the campaign in the list. The Create campaign dialog opens with the original's Send emails as and Replies go to filled in, and you can change either. Changing the property clears both, because addresses belong to a property, so choose them again.
Changing the sender of an existing campaign.
Open the campaign and go to Channel Preferences.
Open the dropdown for the email channel.
Under Custom senders, choose an address.
The sender and the reply-to both change to that address.
Removing an address.
Go to Campaigns > Email addresses.
Select the bin icon at the end of the address's row.
Select Remove to confirm.
Campaigns that used the address fall back to the sender already configured for your account.
What this does not do
It does not add or verify domains. Bookboost does that, and the Domains list on the Email addresses page is for reference only.
It does not update verification automatically. Bookboost marks a domain as verified once it is confirmed with our email delivery provider, so there can be a short delay between the domain being ready and it showing as Verified.
It does not set a separate reply-to in Channel Preferences. There, the reply-to always follows the sender you choose. A different reply-to can only be set when creating or duplicating a campaign.
It does not bring replies into the Unified Inbox by itself. A reply-to address on your own domain delivers to the mailbox behind it. To see those replies in the Unified Inbox, forward the address to your Bookboost forward address. See Redirect replies to Bookboost.
It does not change guest email conversations. This covers campaign email only. The Unified Inbox builds its own address for guest conversations.
Getting help
Open Help at the bottom of the left menu and choose Talk to Us, or email support@bookboost.io. Include the address and the property it should apply to.
