Some email apps strip styling or break layouts, so a guest can open your campaign and see something that looks nothing like what you designed. A "View in browser" link gives them a way out: they click it, and the email opens as a normal web page that matches the message they were sent, with their personalised details already filled in.
You add it by dropping the View in browser token into your email, usually as a link at the top. At send time, every recipient gets their own unique link to their own version of the message.
Before you start
The email must be an HTML campaign email built in the visual editor. Plain-text messages are not supported.
You need a campaign you can schedule or send. The link only works on real sends, not on previews or test emails (more on this below).
How to set this up
Open the campaign email you want to edit in the visual editor.
Add a text or link element where you want the "View in browser" option to appear. The top of the email is the usual place.
Insert the View in browser token (
view_in_browser) into that link. This token becomes each recipient's unique link at send time.A common wording is "Can't see this email? View in browser".
Schedule or send the campaign as normal.
After you send
When the campaign goes out, each guest's email contains a link built just for them. Clicking it opens a web page showing the exact message that guest was sent, with their personalisation in place. Because the page shows the real delivered message, it always matches what landed in their inbox.
Why the link does not work in Preview or "Try email"
The link only resolves for campaigns that have actually been scheduled or sent. It will not open from the editor Preview or the "Try email" test send, because those do not produce a real delivered message for the link to point to.
To check the link works, schedule or send the campaign to yourself or a test guest, then click the link in the delivered email.
Known limitations
Works for scheduled and sent campaigns only. It will not resolve from the editor Preview or a "Try email" test send.
Available for HTML campaign emails built in the visual editor, not plain-text messages.
If the same campaign sends to a guest more than once, the link opens the most recent send to that guest.
For security, any scripted content in the email does not run on the web version. Text, images, styling, and links all work as normal.
Common questions
Does each guest see their own personalised version?
Yes. The link is unique per recipient and opens the exact message that guest received, personalisation included.
Can I test it before a real send?
Not from Preview or "Try email". Schedule or send the campaign, then use the link in the delivered email.
What happens if I send the same campaign to a guest twice?
The link opens the most recent send to that guest.
