Dashboard-level filters are controls that sit on the dashboard and filter every connected tile at once — distinct from a filter set while building a single tile, which scopes only that tile (see Creating custom tiles). They're the main control for giving viewers a focused view.
Configuring filters is done in edit mode, by Creator Seats.
How filters apply
A dashboard filter — for example, Property or Stay Date — is connected to the tiles on the dashboard and filters them together. By default, a new filter also applies to any tiles you add later; this is controlled by the "Apply to new queries" setting.
Controlling which tiles a filter affects
When editing the dashboard, open a filter and use its Mapping tab. It lists every tile with a checkbox:
Checked — the filter applies to that tile, mapped to the relevant field (for example, Property Name).
Unchecked ("Not connected") — that tile ignores the filter.
This lets you exclude a single tile from a filter — useful for context tiles, such as a portfolio-wide total shown alongside tiles filtered to one property. Use Select all to connect or disconnect every tile at once.
A filter's settings
The filter's Settings tab also lets you:
set a Default value;
Require a value before the dashboard shows data;
Hide the filter when viewing the dashboard (the value can still be set in scheduled deliveries and embedded links).
Common filters
The filters available depend on the dashboard's Topic. On the pre-built dashboards you'll see controls such as Property, Convert to Currency, a date range (e.g. Stay Date), and Audience.
Best practice
Set the most common filter at the dashboard level rather than on each tile — fewer clicks for viewers.
Use per-tile exceptions (unchecking tiles in Mapping) sparingly. Too many make a dashboard harder to read.
