📅 Scheduling Campaigns in Bookboost: Broadcasts vs. Journeys

Introduction

Bookboost offers two powerful ways to send messages to your guests: Broadcasts and Journeys. Understanding how scheduling works in each helps you choose the right tool for the right situation — whether you're sending a one-time promotion or setting up ongoing automated communication.

Main Concept: Two Types of Campaign Scheduling

Bookboost's campaign tools are built around two distinct scheduling models. A Broadcast is a one-off message sent once at a specific time. A Journey is an event-triggered automation that runs continuously for every guest who meets the defined conditions.

Use Cases

Broadcasts are ideal for:

  • One-time promotions or seasonal offers

  • Announcements to a specific guest segment

  • Manual sends where you want full control over timing

Journeys are ideal for:

  • Automated pre-arrival messages (e.g., 3 days before check-in)

  • Post-stay follow-ups sent after every checkout

  • Any recurring message that should go out every time a reservation meets certain criteria

Configuration and Setup

⚙️ Scheduling a Broadcast

  1. Navigate to Campaigns → Broadcasts and create or open a Broadcast.

  2. In the Time field, choose one of:

  1. Review the scheduled time carefully. The time displayed is in your property's time zone.

  2. If your local time zone differs from the property's, hover over the "?" icon to see the time difference and confirm the send time is correct.

  3. Confirm and save your Broadcast.

⚠️ Broadcast Sending Limits

Default Limit

  • The campaign will reach approximately 23941 people. 23861 of them are reachable by Email and 18729 by phone. If you’re planning to send a larger broadcast, please contact Support before sending.

⚙️ Scheduling a Journey

  1. Navigate to Campaigns → Journeys and create or open a Journey.

  2. Define the Trigger — this is the "when" of your Journey. Examples:

  1. Once configured, the Journey will run continuously, sending the message automatically to every reservation that matches the trigger and audience going forward.

  2. Activate the Journey to start it.

🤔 Not Sure Which to Use?

  • Use a Broadcast when you want to send a message to a guest list at a specific date and time.

  • Use a Journey when you want a message to go out automatically every time a guest meets a condition.

Conclusion

Choosing the right scheduling method ensures your guests receive the right message at the right time — without unnecessary manual effort. Use Broadcasts for controlled, one-time sends and Journeys for powerful, ongoing automation tied to reservation events. Properly configured, these tools help you deliver a consistent and timely guest experience every time. 🏨✨
