Every guest profile shows a status for each consent you have created, and there are four: granted, implicit, pending, and revoked. The status decides whether a campaign will reach that guest, and Bookboost enforces it at send time rather than leaving it to you to remember.
Find it under Profiles, on the guest's record.
Where the status is shown
Go to Profiles in the left menu.
Find the guest and open their record.
Look at the Consent section within the general info. It lists every consent option you have created, with this guest's status for each one.
The four statuses
Granted. The guest actively agreed, either through your PMS or by confirming a double opt-in request. This is the strongest status and passes every consent check a campaign can apply.
Implicit. The guest never explicitly agreed, but consent is assumed from their relationship with you, typically because they made a booking. Use it for messages about their stay, not for promotion, and always give them a way out.
Pending. Consent has been requested and not yet confirmed. This only occurs when Require Confirmation, double opt-in, is switched on for that consent. With it off, consent goes straight to granted or implicit and never passes through pending.
Revoked. The guest agreed once and has since opted out.
What Bookboost does with them
Pending and revoked guests are excluded from campaigns automatically. You do not have to filter them out, and you cannot accidentally include them by forgetting.
Where the two granted statuses differ is what a campaign asks for. A campaign that requires explicit consent reaches only granted guests. One that accepts implicit consent reaches granted and implicit. That setting is on the campaign, not the profile.
What this does not do
It does not decide what is lawful. The statuses record what happened. Whether implicit consent is enough for a given message in your jurisdiction is your decision, not the platform's.
It does not cover consent held elsewhere. A consent recorded only in a third-party system and never synced to Bookboost does not appear here at all.
Implicit is not a weaker version of granted. They are different things with different uses. Promotional messages need granted.
A consent has no channel. One consent record cannot hold a different status for email than for SMS. If you treat those separately, create a consent for each, and a guest can then be granted on one and revoked on the other. Reading one status tells you nothing about the others.
What to do next
To see every consent a guest holds in one table, see Consent overview in the Master Profile. For how consent is collected and configured, see Consent management essentials.
