Introduction
When building an audience in Bookboost, filters are the rules that determine which guest profiles are included in a segment. This article covers Reachability filters — filters that ensure your audience only contains guests who can actually be contacted through a specific channel.
Using reachability filters is considered best practice and is recommended as a starting point for every audience you build. 🎯
Main Concept
Reachability filters check whether a guest has a valid and usable contact detail (email or phone number) on their profile. Each filter has an Include or Exclude toggle:
Include — only guests who are reachable are kept in the audience.
Exclude — guests who are reachable are removed from the audience.
Filters work with AND logic — guests must meet every filter you add to be included.
Filters
✅ Reachable
Filters guests based on whether they have a valid email address or phone number on their profile.
Include — only guests with a valid contact detail are kept. Always add this as your first filter to ensure your audience is contactable.
Exclude — removes guests who are reachable (rarely used on its own).
For email, "valid" also depends on delivery history: if an address has hard-bounced twice, Bookboost marks it unreachable even though it is correctly formatted, and it is excluded here until the address is corrected. See Automatic exclusion of hard-bounced email addresses for how that works.
📧 Receiver Email Domains
Filters by the domain of a guest's email address (e.g. gmail.com, company.com).
Type a domain and hit + to add it. Multiple domains can be added.
