πŸ“‘ Understanding Reachability Filters in Bookboost Audiences

Introduction

When building an audience in Bookboost, filters are the rules that determine which guest profiles are included in a segment. This article covers Reachability filters β€” filters that ensure your audience only contains guests who can actually be contacted through a specific channel.

Using reachability filters is considered best practice and is recommended as a starting point for every audience you build. 🎯

Main Concept

Reachability filters check whether a guest has a valid and usable contact detail (email or phone number) on their profile. Each filter has an Include or Exclude toggle:

  • Include β€” only guests who are reachable are kept in the audience.

  • Exclude β€” guests who are reachable are removed from the audience.

Filters work with AND logic β€” guests must meet every filter you add to be included.

Filters

βœ… Reachable

Filters guests based on whether they have a valid email address or phone number on their profile.

  • Include β€” only guests with a valid contact detail are kept. Always add this as your first filter to ensure your audience is contactable.

  • Exclude β€” removes guests who are reachable (rarely used on its own).

πŸ“§ Receiver Email Domains

Filters by the domain of a guest's email address (e.g. gmail.com, company.com).

  • Type a domain and hit + to add it. Multiple domains can be added.

  • Email type:

  • Exclude selected β€” inverts the filter.

  • Example use cases:

πŸ“© Receiver Emails

Filters by specific individual email addresses.

  • Type a full email address and hit + to add it. Multiple addresses can be added.

  • Email type:

  • Exclude selected β€” inverts the filter.

  • Example use cases:

  • ⚠️ Note: This is primarily a precision and admin tool β€” not intended for broad campaigns.

πŸ“± Receiver Phones

Filters by specific phone numbers.

  • Type a phone number and hit + to add it. Multiple numbers can be added.

  • Phone type:

  • Exclude selected β€” inverts the filter.

  • Example use cases:

  • ⚠️ Note: Same as Receiver Emails β€” primarily a precision and admin tool.
