Duplicate Therapy Warning

To reduce the risk of creating duplicate medication profiles for residents, we’ve updated the “Add Drug” feature within the app. Now, when you try to add a medication that the resident is already taking, you will be presented with a warning message. Some things to note about this feature:

• You will not be able to continue to add a medication if it is identified that the resident is already taking the same medication.

• From version 9.0.14 and above the "add drug" function will become an online only feature, an Internet connection will be required to add a new medication via the Atlas App to ensure the relevant safety checks can be completed.

Log in to Atlas eMAR device and locate the resident profile which you intend to add a new medication to. Click Add Drug and enter the medication name. You will be presented with a list of medications to select from which match your search, select the item. The system will perform a check on the resident's list of active medication to check if this item already exists.

If the resident is already taking the medication which the user is attempting to add, a warning message will appear notifying them that the resident is already taking the medication that they have entered. Users will not be able to proceed with adding this medication. When the user has selected ok on the notification, the drug search bar will reset.
