How To Add New Medication To A Residents Record On Atlas Central

You are able to add new medication directly to a residents profile from the Atlas Central by using the add the add drug feature, simply add the new medication and the relevant dosage instruction then synchronise your Atlas eMAR device to download any new medication you have added.

To add a new medication follow this process;

1. Log in to Atlas Central and click residents.

2.Click the view option on the residents profile you wish to view.

3.Click add drug.

4. To search for a medication, type the medication name into the drug search box. Locate and select the drug you wish to add.

5. To add the dosage instructions, type the dosage exactly how it displays on the medication box into the relevant box.

If the medication is managed any other way than using Atlas eMAR you will need to change the managed by option by selecting the box which states Atlas This will give you the following options;

Managed on Atlas (The medication is managed by the care home and administrations are recorded on the Atlas Device).

Self medicating(The medication is managed by the resident and administration are not recorded on Atlas eMAR).

Managed on paper or Care Plan(The medication is managed on a paper MAR chart/Care plan)

6. If you are adding a cream that is ok for care assistant to administer then you will need to select yes or no from the available drop down.

7. If the medication can be given outside of dosage times or if different quantities required to be administered at different times then you can tick the boxes as shown.

6. To add the drugs schedule, select add within the schedule column to set the frequency and times for the medication. You can select from 'as directed, Daily, weekly, monthly and hourly. Once you select the medication frequency you can then add the medication times and Quantities.

7. Click Save schedule once all of the relevant information has been inputted, and then you can select add drug.

8. Review the summary page, if you wish to amend the details select back or to continue a member of staff will need to witness the medication by entering their PIN in to the relevant box and clicking witness.

8. Synchronise the device to download the new medication added to the resident profile.
