Change a patients name

The Care Home are able to amend patients name, and generally it is best practice to encourage the Care Home to amend their patients details from the Atlas PCS device, however there may be occasions where you are requested to change these details on behalf of the home.

To change a patient name follow this process:

1. View the patient record by pressing F9 or by viewing the Care Home dashboard.

2. Select actions located on the patient personal tab and click change name.

3. Complete all requested information on the RFC Patient Wizard screen, click next and amend the patient name as requested then click finish.

4. Once the unit change has taken place on CAPA, ask the home to synchronise to update the patient record.

  • You can also input the patient NHS number using this process
