Moving a Resident to a Different Unit

The Care Home are not able to move patients between unit via the Atlas eMAR app. It is best practice to encourage the Care Home to move the Resident to a new unit via Atlas Central>Edit resident.

Should the home archive the patient record and create new record on the new unit, this will result a number of issues for example duplicated records, medication bar codes no longer scanning and administration records being linked to the archived record.

Please request that both devices are synchronised before the change takes place to ensure that all records are up to date.

To move a patient between units follow this process:

1. View the patient record by pressing F9 or by viewing the Care Home dashboard.

2. Select actions located on the patient personal tab and click move between units.

3. Complete all requested information on the RFC Patient Wizard screen, click next and enter the select the new unit the patient will be allocated to and click finish.

4. Once the unit change has taken place on CAPA, ask the home to synchronise the device the patient has move from first (this will remove the patient record from the device), then once the synchronisation has finished the home will need to synchronise the device the patient has move to (to download the patient record) to complete the change.
