When using the PCS system within a care home its important that the Care home(s) administration times are set up correctly. The average care home will have four main medication round times, morning, afternoon, evening and night with exception of some medication.
Using CAPA you are able to set default round times for your home(s) these are the times of the main medication rounds within the home. These times will be displayed when selecting a time for prompting dosages at the checking stage, also once dosages for that home start to become familiar to a particular time these dosages will start to default to the familiar round times during the checking process. For example, if Take one in the morning is usually set to 8:00am future entry for this dosage will default to this round time (please note these times will still need to be checked and approved they can also be amended if required).
To set the care home default round times follow this process
1.Confirm the main medication round times with your Care home(s).
2. View the relevant Care home dashboard from CAPA, double click view home details from the bottom action box on the right hand side of the dashboard.
3. Double click the unit you want to amend (note this process needs to be completed per unit), select the systems tab at the top of the screen.
4. In the default administration times & recent changes section there is an option to add new times. Input the time required and select add this till then appear in the allocated box in this section. To remove any old or incorrect times highlight the time you wish to remove by selecting it and select remove (repeat steps 2 to 4 for each unit).
5. Once all times have been added select ok to close the screen.
