During the dispensing process on CAPA you may come across manufacture barcodes which are not recognised resulting in the manual printing of dispensing labels. As part of the CAPA V9.5 - Release in may 2019, we have introduced a Barcode Vote system -> If you scan a manufacturers barcode that does not exist, you have the option to add the Barcode.
This allows you to vote for the product the barcode is associated with, and this vote is placed in a pool. The rest of the CAPA community of users can also vote on the same product, and if THREE independent votes are cast with identical matches, the barcode is added.
To use the barcode vote system follow this process:
1. In the event that a barcode is scanned within a dispensing batch which is not recognised, the image below will display. Click vote for this barcode to process your vote.
2. Enter the name of the item you wish to add into the search box and select enter on your keyboard to search for the item.
3. Before selecting a item in the list, check that the pack size and manufacture match the details listed. Once happy that item listed matches the item you wish to add highlight it and select ok.
4. Double check that the item name, pack size and the manufacture in the relevant boxes are correct then select vote and follow the on screen prompts.
5. When your vote has been registered you will be to see how many people have also voted for this barcode to be added.
Each item requires 3 votes to be added to the CAPA system, if the barcode is added via this mechanism, a yellow triangle alert indicator appears on packaging for the first 3 subsequent occasions of dispensing.
Tips
Each user can place one vote per product so encouraging your colleagues to use the voting system will result in getting your barcodes added faster.
