Atlas eMAR Med Plans using Atlas Central

Our Meds Plan feature allows users to create pre and post administration assessments which can managed within the Atlas eMAR app or via Atlas Central. Users with the relevant access level will be able to add notes, questions and clinical reading prompts to the medication plan which includes the option to record a painchek pain score. Pre administration assessments will be prompted on screen before the stock is add to the pot, post administration assessments can be completed from the assessments section on the home screen via the Atlas eMAR device after the administration has taken place.

To add a med plan follow this process:

1.Log into Atlas Central, select residents from the left hand panel and locate the residents profile you wish to add the med plan to.

2. From the residents medication list, find the medication and select more located on the right-hand side of the medication and click more to view the drug details screen.

3. Located in the middle of the drug details screen is the Med plan tile. Click Add med plan.

4. There are 5 section to the med plan on Atlas Central, please note both assessments prior to administration and post administration assessments can be created within the same med plan, users can also choose to only create one assessment depending on the requirements.

Section 1: Review Details

This is the date that the medication plan will need to be reviewed. By default this will display 28 days time however users can manually update this by selecting the calendar option and choosing a specific date. Med plans and any reviews will be shown on the device in the assessment section on Atlas eMAR (version 7.9.0 and above)

Users will then need to free type the drug purpose into the allocated box i.e Cramping stomach pain and also add any instructions for the administration which should be noted by the user giving the drug.

Section 2: Assessments Prior to administration

In the event no pre assessment is required for the medication users can select "No assessment required" then select save & continue to move on to the post administration assessment.

If the medication will require a post administration assessment select set assessment, users will be displayed with the option to either customise a individuals med plan or select from their homes pre built med plans. Select from the drop down list then click select template.

The customisable template gives the user to add the following:

Any note which may be relevant to the administration

Questionnaire with either a YES/NO answer or the option for the staff to free type an answer. Multiple questions can be added.

Clinical reading (Observation) Multiple clinical readings can be added to one assessment.

Once the user has recorded all of the information they need to, select save & continue to move of to section 3.

Section 3: Post Administration Assessment

In the event no post assessment is required for the medication users can select "No assessment required" then select save & continue to move on to section four.

If a post assessment is required the options in the customisable plan are the same as section 2, or the homes pre build plans. Once the user has recorded all of the information they need to, select save & continue to move of to section 4.

Section 4. Documents

If there are not documents to upload the user can select save & continue to move on to section 5.

Should the resident have any documentation which relates to this medication or the medication plan its self this can be uploaded directly to the plan and viewed via the device during the assessments. A title and a note can be added to the supporting documentation once complete they can select save & continue to move on to section 5.

Please note that allowed file types are PDF, JPG,PNG and the maximum file size is 500MB.

Section 5.Witness

The final section of adding the med plan is to obtain witness. Users can review the information inputted by clicking on the numbers displayed for each section once they are happy the information added is correct they are able complete the adding of the medication plan by inputting their PIN and selecting submit.

Please note the Atlas eMAR device will need to be synchronised before the medication plan will be displayed.

Medication plans can also be edited at any time by clicking the Edit Plan option located in the med plan section as displayed below.

Tips

  • Always double check the review date on your medication plan has been entered correctly to ensure the review is flagged.
