The adding of medication to the pot on Atlas eMAR simply refers to the preparation of the medicine prior to the administration. All medications displayed in red as due, or that are displayed in white and are "when required" should be reviewed and actioned on each medication round, however only the medication required during that round will be added to the pot.
The medication should be added to the pot before the medication has been taken by the resident, and the pot should only be confirmed once the resident has been witnessed taking the medication by the person(s) accounting for the administration on the device. If the medication is added to the pot but then is rejected by the resident, or not given for another reason you will be required to go back into the medication list and update the medication from ‘added to pot’ to ‘not given’, and then select reason why. The stock level for this medication will still be adjusted to reflect the wasted medication, and will then be displayed in orange making it possible to try and give the medication again at a later time.
