For further information on how to invigilate an exam (including printing the Invigilation documents or unlocking the exams), please see our Invigilation guidance article.

Running an exam with an active internet connection

To run an exam using SecureClient you must have already scheduled the exam and have a Keycode for each learner.

Find the ‘SecureClient’ software on your computer and run it. Your candidate will need to enter their keycode and then click ‘OK’.

They will then be asked to either wait for the exam to be unlocked by the Invigilator or be asked to type in an assigned PIN (please see the invigilation instructions for further details).

The learner will also be required to confirm that they are the candidate shown on screen (this does not apply to practice exams). They must check this and report any errors to the invigilator.

Once the above has been confirmed the learner will see the introduction page of the exam and it can now be started. The timer will start when the learner clicks the 'Start Test' button.

During the exam you may run into a few exam states. Please see further information on these in our Invigilation article on what these mean and how to troubleshoot any issues.

Downloading an exam to be taken later

Downloading exams is only necessary if you plan to run the exams at a remote location without an Internet connection. However, these initial steps must be done in a place with an internet connection first, prior to going to the location without internet access.
