Along with the dataset title and brief description under the ‘Dataset Info’ icon on the data map, we track the following data points in accordance with the Dublin Core standard:
Creator – An entity responsible for creating the resource. Contains the name of the creator organisation and a company number, where applicable.
Identifier – A unique reference to the resource within a given context. It has been updated with the original source identifier where applicable, else, contains the name by which we distinguish the resource in YLNZH.
Spatial Coverage – Refers to the geographic area which the data relates to. Where available, it contains data on latitude and longitude coordinates.
Language – The language of the resource.
License Name – The document which specifies the permissions around how this data can be used. Where possible a link will be provided, such as the Open Government License. The license gives details on the extent to which this data can be shared or re-used.
Access Rights – Associated with the End User License Agreement (EULA) which users accept upon signing up and agreeing to the terms and conditions of accessing and using YLNZH.
Type – The nature or genre of the resource. For example, ‘dataset’ refers to structured information encoded in lists, tables, databases, etc. ‘Collection’ refers to an aggregation of items, where its parts may be separately described and navigated.
Format – The file format of the resource in YLNZH in which you can export a dataset (if available for export).
Source – Link to the original resource, where applicable, else contains name of the creator organisation and a company number where possible.
Publisher – The person or organisation responsible for making the content available on YLNZH. Contains the name of the publisher organisation and a company number where possible.
Relation – Other relevant resources which may be of interest. Contains reference to the different dataset groups/ folders in YLNZH.
Source Publication Date – Refers to the date when the dataset was originally published, if that has been specified. In some cases, it might be listed as ‘Not available’.
Updated At – Refers to the date when the resource has been published or modified in YLNZH.
Contributor – An entity responsible for making additions or amendments to the resource. Contains the name of the contributor organisation and a company number where possible.
Accrual Periodicity – This refers to frequency of updates, if it has been specified by the creator. For example, annually. In some cases, it might be listed as ‘Not available’.
What do some of the metadata entries mean?
Not available – This might be present where data is generally not available/ unknown.
Not specified – This might be present where information has not generally been specified at the source.
Information Coming Soon – This might be present across data points where we are validating specific metadata details before publishing them on YLNZH.
