Access decarbonisation and use case guidance

Updated over a year ago

Did you know we have a Resources section?

This article explains the different sections and types of guidance you can access directly via Your Local Net Zero Hub.

If you prefer video-based learning, here's a video which walks through the steps in this tutorial:

The resources section is designed to support local authorities in any stage of local area energy planning, and is both an ideal starting point and also a useful reference for considering different use cases or understanding the decarbonisation process with case studies.

Access the section from the main navigation menu and you will see three tabs - Guidance, Use Cases and News and Events.

Guidance contains a range of useful sections covering some core topics: Getting Started, Net Zero Basics, Useful Resources and Case Studies. Examples of articles include the LAEP framework, Glossary of Terms, flexibility and connections support. Case studies and published LAEPs are also accessible here. These resources are also available on the Your Local Net Zero Hub website.

Use Cases provides context, insight and aggregated data metrics for a range of common use cases such as PV (photovoltaics), heat pump and EV (electric vehicle) deployments.

There is also guidance on getting started which links to our Progress Tracker, and how to contact UK Power Networks. The Use Cases give a suggestion on data available in the tool which may be most relevant to you, and also a list of datasets you may hold locally which could assist data-driven decision making.

The news and events section contains details of any previous and upcoming webinars or events hosted by UK Power Networks.
