How to export your account data

Introduction

Sana gives you full control over your personal data. At any time, you can export a complete copy of your account data, including your profile information, chat history, and file upload records.


How to export your data

  1. Click on your profile icon and select User settings.

  2. Go to the Privacy tab.

  3. Click the Export button under "Export account data."

  4. Your export will be generated and downloaded in JSON format.


What you can export

The exported data is provided in JSON format and includes everything Sana stores about your account. You can only export your own data.

Data type

Exported information

Profile

  • Your full name

  • Your email address

  • Your role (Admin or Member)

  • When you first joined Sana

Chat history

  • Every conversation you've had in Sana, including: questions you asked, responses from Sana, any tool actions performed (e.g., "requested time off," "searched Gmail"), and results from those actions

  • Chat titles and when each conversation was created or last updated

Uploaded files

  • Filename (e.g., "Q4_Report.pdf")

  • File type (e.g., PDF, Excel, PowerPoint, image)

  • File size

  • Upload date

Important: The export includes metadata about your uploaded files, but not the actual file content. To receive a full copy of each uploaded file, contact privacy@sanalabs.com


FAQ

Q: Can I export other users' data?

A: No. This feature is for personal data export only. Admins cannot access or export other users' private chats or files.

Q: How do I get copies of my actual uploaded files?

A: The standard export includes file metadata only (name, type, size, date). To request full copies of your uploaded files, contact privacy@sanalabs.com.

Q: In what format is the data exported?

A: The export is provided in JSON format.
