Note: This FAQ covers common questions about Sana. For specific feature details, please refer to the relevant guides.
General & access
Q: Do I need a separate login for Sana?
A: No. Sana uses Single Sign-On (SSO) connected directly to your Workday identity. You log in using your standard company credentials — there is no separate Sana password.
Q: Why can't I see external connectors like Gmail or Google Drive?
A: Access to third‑party connectors is available only to Sana Enterprise users. If you are a Sana Core user, your workspace is optimized for Workday actions, web search, and internal file analysis.
Privacy & security
Q: Is my data used to train AI models?
A: No. Sana and its model providers do not use your data to train public models. Your data is used only to generate answers for you and your organization and is handled according to strict enterprise security standards.
Q: Who can see my chat history?
A: Your chats are private to you. Workspace Admins can manage settings and policies, but they cannot view your conversation history or the files you upload.
Q: Where is my data stored?
A: Customer data is stored in dedicated, encrypted environments in Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Sana is deployed in US‑East and EU‑West regions. US customers are hosted in the US region, while EU and APAC customers are hosted in the EU region, depending on your organization’s location.
Workday integration
Q: Does Sana store my HR or Finance data?
A: Sana Core accesses Workday data to answer your questions and stores the relevant context in your encrypted chat history, along with any tool calls made while generating a response. It does not duplicate your entire Workday database; it only retains the information needed to support your conversations securely.
Q: What happens if I can't see a document in Sana?
A: Sana mirrors your Workday permissions. If you do not have access to view a specific report or data field in Workday, you will not be able to view it in Sana either.
Troubleshooting
Q: How do I report a bug or an incorrect answer?
A: If your Sana interface shows feedback options (such as thumbs up/down or a “Give feedback” link), use those controls to send feedback directly. Otherwise, contact your Workspace Admin or IT helpdesk and include a short description of the issue and, if possible, a screenshot of the chat.
Q: Who do I contact if I can't log in?
A: Contact your company’s IT helpdesk or internal support team. Because Sana uses Workday SSO, login issues are typically handled through your normal IT support channels.
