Website not working — troubleshooting guide

Helps customers troubleshoot common Huel website issues including pages not loading, buttons not responding, checkout problems, and login errors.

Written by Jamie Forbes

If you are experiencing issues on the Huel website — such as buttons not responding, pages not loading, checkout problems, login errors, or payment failures — work through the steps below in order.

Step 1: Clear Your Browser Cache

Cached data can prevent buttons from working, cause pages to load incorrectly, or block checkout forms and login fields.

  1. Open your browser settings

  2. Find Clear browsing data or Clear cache (exact wording varies by browser)

  3. Set the time range to All time

  4. Check the boxes for Cookies and Cached images and files

  5. Click Clear data

  6. Refresh the Huel website and try your action again

Step 2: Try a Different Browser

If clearing your cache did not resolve the issue:

  1. Open a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge)

  2. Go to huel.com or your regional Huel store

  3. Log in to your account

  4. Try the action that was not working

Step 3: Disable Browser Extensions

Some browser extensions can block buttons, forms, payment systems, and login fields.

  1. Open your browser in Incognito or Private browsing mode

  2. Go to huel.com

  3. Log in and try the action that was not working

If the website works in Incognito mode, a browser extension is likely the cause. Disable extensions one by one to identify which one is blocking the site.

Step 4: Check Your Internet Connection

A weak or unstable connection can prevent pages from loading fully.

  1. Refresh the page

  2. Restart your modem or router

  3. Move closer to your WiFi router or switch to a wired connection

  4. Try the action again

Step 5: Check Browser and Device Compatibility

The Huel website works best on the latest versions of:

Browser

Google Chrome

Mozilla Firefox

Safari

Microsoft Edge

If you are using an older or unsupported browser, update it and try again.

Step 6: Specific Error Messages

If you see a specific error message or code, here's what it usually means and how to fix it:

\"Invalid Token\" Error (Account Activation)

This error usually appears when you're trying to activate your account after signing up or when resetting your password.

  • What it means: Your browser has stored outdated session information that's preventing the link from working.

  • How to fix it:

    1. Complete Step 1 above (clear your cache and cookies)

    2. Close your browser completely

    3. Reopen your browser and try the activation link again

    4. If it still doesn't work, try a different browser (Step 2)

  • If this doesn't work: Say \"talk to a human\" and we can activate your account manually.

\"Page Not Found\" (404 Error)

This error means the page you're looking for doesn't exist or the link is broken.

  • What to do: Check the web address in your browser's address bar. If it looks correct, try navigating back to the homepage at huel.com and finding the page from there.

  • If the problem persists: The page may have moved or been removed. Say \"talk to a human\" and we'll help you find what you're looking for.

\"Payment Failed\" (Checkout Error)

If your payment is being declined or rejected at checkout:

  • Complete Step 1 (clear cache and cookies)

  • Try a different payment method

  • Check that your card details are entered correctly (no spaces, correct expiry date)

  • Try Step 2 (a different browser)

  • If it still fails: Contact your bank to check if the transaction is being blocked on their end, then say \"talk to a human\" if you need further help.

\"500 Error\" or \"Something Went Wrong\"

This means something isn't working on our server side.

  • Wait a few minutes, then refresh the page

  • If the error continues, the issue is likely on our end. Say \"talk to a human\" and we'll look into it.
