I didn’t place an order, why was I charged?

"Unexpected charge: check active subscriptions, multiple accounts, shared account access, or report as fraud, cancellations require same email as order, we'll investigate."

Written by Jamie Forbes

If you've been charged by Huel but don't remember placing an order, one of the following is usually the cause.

Most common reasons for unexpected charges

1. Huel subscription renewal The most common reason is an active subscription renewing automatically. Log into your Huel account and check My Subscriptions to see if this is the case.

2. Multiple Huel accounts Orders and subscriptions are tied to the email address used at checkout. If you have more than one Huel account (for example, a work and personal email), a subscription on another account may have renewed.

3. Shared access to your account If someone else has access to your Huel account — such as a family member or housemate — they may have placed the order.

4. Unrecognised or potentially fraudulent charge If none of the above apply, the charge may be unauthorised. This is a security concern and we take it seriously. Say "talk to a human" and we'll escalate it — a specialist can investigate and help secure your account if needed.

Want to cancel the order?

Our system can only process a cancellation request when it's made from the same email address used to place the order. If you're contacting us from a different email address, the cancellation won't go through.

Please make sure you're reaching out from the email address associated with the order — then say "talk to a human" and we'll get it cancelled for you.

What to do next

  1. Log into your Huel account and check My Subscriptions

  2. Search your email inbox (including spam and junk folders) for Huel order confirmations

  3. Say "talk to a human", and we'll escalate it and investigate for you
