CFD Prime Rules

Everything that applies to your CFD Prime account, in one place — what you must do to pass, the limits you can’t breach, and what’s allowed.

These are the rules for your CFD Prime account. Most apply in both the Challenge and the Earning Phase. We group them into two types:

  • Hard rules — breaking one breaches the account: it fails and is disabled.

  • Soft rules — requirements you must meet, but breaking them does not fail your account; you simply keep trading until you meet them.

Exact limits (your Profit Target and drawdown amounts) depend on your account size and are shown in your Client Area. Some rules also depend on when the account was purchased — those dates are noted below.

* The risk-per-trade-idea rule applies to accounts created before 29/05/2026, and to CFD Prime 1-Phase $100K and $200K accounts regardless of creation date. For accounts up to and including $50K, both the margin and risk rules are monitored manually by the Risk Team rather than enforced automatically.

What You Must Do To Pass (Objectives)

Profit Target (Objective)

Reach the Profit Target set for your account size (shown in your Client Area and on the CFD product page) without breaking any rules.

Minimum Profitable Days (Soft — No Breach)

You need at least 3 profitable trading days (accounts purchased or upgraded on or after 2 June 2025; earlier accounts need 5 trading days). A day is profitable when your account gains at least 0.5% of the initial balance, measured at the end-of-day cut-off (16:15 CT) using the lower of your balance or equity versus the previous day’s balance. Profitable days do not need to be consecutive.

Consistency Rule (Soft — No Breach)

Applies only to 1-Phase $100K and $200K accounts (new accounts on or after 6 July 2026), in both phases. Your Best Day (single most profitable day) must not exceed 50% of your Positive Days’ Profit (the sum of all profitable days; losing days are excluded).

Going over 50% does not fail your account — you simply keep trading and add profit on other days until your Best Day is 50% or less

Limits You Must Not Breach (Hard Rules)

Daily Drawdown (Hard Rule)

The most you can lose in a single day. It’s measured on your closed balance (Closed P&L, commissions included) and updated at the end of each day (16:15 CT).

If your equity drops below the limit, the account is breached and permanently disabled.

Example:

  • On a $100,000 account with a $4,000 daily drawdown, the limit is $96,000.

  • If the day closes at $96,100, the next day’s limit becomes $92,100 (previous close − $4,000).

Maximum Drawdown (Hard Rule)

Your overall loss limit. Which version applies depends on your account type and when you bought it:

  • Trailing (on end-of-day balance): applies to CFD Prime 1-Phase $100K and $200K, and 2-Phase $100K accounts purchased on or after 29 April 2026. The limit trails your end-of-day balance upward until it reaches your starting balance, then locks.

    - Example: start at $100,000 with 10%; once your closed balance reaches $110,000, the limit fixes at $100,000 and no longer moves.

  • Static: applies to all other accounts, including any purchased before 29 April 2026. A fixed limit based on your initial balance that never moves.

    - Example: 10% on a $100,000 account = a fixed $90,000 limit, even as your balance grows.

In both cases, if your equity falls below the limit at any time, the account is breached.

Stop-Out (Auto-Closes Positions)

If your Margin Level falls to 100%, the system automatically closes one or more open positions to protect the account.

Margin Used Per Trade Idea (Hard Rule*)

The total margin across all positions in the same trade idea (one instrument, or a group of correlated instruments) is capped at 40% of your initial balance.

Splitting trades does not reduce it.

You get a reminder at 30%; a first violation triggers a warning and forced position closure; a second violation breaches the account.

For accounts up to and including $50K, it is monitored manually by the Risk Team rather than automatically.

Applies to CFD Prime 1-Phase and 2-Phase $5K, $10K, $20K and $50K accounts, and CFD Prime 2-Phase $100K accounts, created before 29/05/2026

Applies to CFD Prime 1-Phase $100K and $200K accounts created before 06/07/2026.

Risk Per Trade Idea (Hard Rule*)

The maximum potential loss across all positions in the same trade idea (based on your stop-losses, or worst-case exposure if you have none) is capped at 1.5% of your initial balance.

Reminder at 1%; first violation = warning + forced closure; second = breach. Trading without stop-losses raises your calculated risk and can trigger warnings faster.

Applies to accounts created before 29/05/2026, and continues to apply to CFD Prime 1-Phase $100K and $200K accounts regardless of creation date.

For accounts up to and including $50K, it is monitored manually by the Risk Team rather than automatically.

Inactivity (Hard Rule)

If 21 consecutive days pass without placing a single trade, the account is considered inactive and breached.

Holding a position overnight or leaving a pending order does not count as activity. The countdown starts as soon as the account is created.

What’s Allowed, With Conditions

Scalping (Allowed)

Allowed on CFD Prime, including trades held for under a minute.

What is not allowed is High-Frequency Trading, where the majority of your trades last only a few seconds or less.

A single trade that closes in seconds because your stop-loss or take-profit was hit won’t breach your account, but deliberately placing stops or targets extremely close to entry as a strategy is treated as prohibited HFT-style trading.

Stop-Loss & Take-Profit (Allowed)

Not mandatory on every trade, but strongly recommended.

If the majority of your trades are placed without a stop-loss, the Risk Team may reach out and require you to use them.

News Trading (Allowed, With Limits)

Allowed on CFD accounts up to $50,000 (you may open and close trades during high-impact news).

Not permitted on $100,000 and $200,000 accounts during the Challenge or Earning Phase.

Where restricted, you may not open new trades — or have pending orders triggered — within 2 minutes before or after a high-impact release; trades already open beforehand may be closed during the window.

Expert Advisors (EAs) (Allowed, With Limits)

Allowed, provided they don’t copy signals that aren’t yours, scalp against the rules, run latency/reverse/hedge/arbitrage or HFT, use emulators, or trade within 2 minutes of high-impact news on $100K/$200K accounts.

Accounts using prohibited EAs are denied any upgrade or payout, and the Challenge is not refunded.

VPS (Allowed)

You may use a VPS to run your Expert Advisor.

Hedging (Allowed, With Limits)

Allowed within the same account for risk management (no hedging arbitrage).

Hedging across two accounts — a BUY on one and a SELL on the other, including on correlated assets — is prohibited.

Copy Trading (Allowed, With Limits)

Allowed only between accounts you own (effective 02/06/2025).

Shared or mirrored trading between different people, or copying signals from an account that isn’t yours, is treated as a breach.

Holding Overnight & Over The Weekend [Swing] (Allowed)

Allowed on all CFD accounts. Be mindful that price gaps when markets reopen can breach the daily drawdown.

Cryptocurrency trades seven days a week on select platforms (from 7 July 2025).

Prohibited Practices

Gap Trading (Prohibited)

Do not open trades within 2 hours of a market close when it will stay closed for 2 or more hours, or ahead of major news, earnings or events likely to cause a price gap.

This may result in account termination without compensation.

Grid Strategies (Prohibited)

Not allowed.

A grid strategy involves placing multiple buy and/or sell orders at predetermined price intervals, creating a series or “grid” of positions around a price level.

This includes systematically adding multiple positions as the market moves up or down to profit from price fluctuations rather than using independent trade setups.

Martingale Strategies (Prohibited)

Not allowed.

A martingale strategy involves increasing the position size after a losing trade or series of losing trades, with the aim of recovering previous losses and generating a profit from a subsequent winning trade. This includes systematically increasing exposure as losses accumulate.

Report to show the affiliate and then to drill down to see which clients/emails they refer and they are active now. If possible also to show the payout/purchases ratio for each client.

High-Frequency Trading (HFT) (Prohibited)

Not allowed on any account: executing multiple trades per second, dozens of trades within a minute, rapid-fire entries and exits, or any attempt to exploit speed, latency or feed delays.

Violations result in account termination.

Gambling (Prohibited)

Excessive risk-taking is prohibited — overleveraging, overexposure to one asset, one-sided bets without analysis, and hyperactive impulsive trading.

Violations can lead to restricted trading privileges, revoked rewards, reduced leverage or account termination. See our full Gambling Policy for the details.

Accounts & Other Rules

How Many Accounts / Allocation

There is no limit on how many accounts you can purchase, all managed from one Dashboard.

In the Earning Phase you can hold a maximum of 8 active Earning Accounts with a combined initial balance cap of $400,000. Example: if you pass three $200,000 Challenges, only two can convert to Earning Accounts ($400,000 total); the third stays pending until an active Earning Account closes or breaches.

Trading Device, IP & Network

An IP that changes every few days (e.g. while travelling) is fine.

An IP that changes several times within the same day can raise suspicion of account sharing, which is forbidden.

See our Trading Device, IP & Network Policy for the full rules on devices, IPs and shared access.

How Can I Check Why My Account Has Been Breached?

Log into your Client Area, select Accounts, and click the account number you want to review. At the top centre of that account’s Dashboard, next to the account number, you’ll see the reason it was breached (for example, a Scalping-rule violation, exceeding a drawdown, or a rule breach while reaching the Profit Target).
