Sign-off

Written by Laura Bennett

The role of a sign-off

A sign-off can...

  • see the people they're the second sign-off for under a specific 'sign-off' section of their Team tab, this keeps them separate from anyone they are the default manager or default second manager for

  • view their direct report's profile (and below in the primary reporting hierarchy if the "Enable hierarchy visibility for manager's managers" setting is enabled)

  • add new objectives for the direct report

  • confirm the direct report's objectives and edit already confirmed objectives

  • add progress updates to direct report's objectives

  • update the current status of the direct report's objectives

  • mark the direct report's objectives as finished and add a final rating (if required)

  • access all past and ongoing reviews including feedback from colleagues (can be impacted by other account settings)

  • add comments to the direct report's review if they're assigned as the second sign-off on the specific review

  • set-up their own check-ins with the direct report

  • request and see 360 feedback for the direct report's reviews

Sign-offs are generally responsible for closing reviews for the direct report (reviewee) after reviewing the reviewer's and second manager's comments but this depends on the workflow you're using.

Enabling sign-offs

Note: You will need Configurator access to enable the Sign-off feature.

Click on Configuration and then select the 'User Provisioning' tab, then select the 'User Fields' drop down tab.

You will need to click the toggle under the 'Sign-off' section to enable this feature.

Assigning sign-offs

Note: You will need Administrator access to assign sign-offs.

Follow the steps for Editing users individually or Editing users in bulk and search for the user's second sign-off in the dropdown next to the 'Second Sign-off' field.

Info: Any reviews created from now on will include the sign-off. If you'd like to include them on any in-progress reviews, edit the reviews to add them.
