With the smarta Belege App, you can quickly and easily send your receipts to us.

With the smarta receipt app, you can quickly and easily send your receipts to us.

The app is used exclusively to upload your receipts for bookkeeping while you’re on the go. We take care of the further processing and assignment of the receipts.


Download

You can find the smarta receipt app in both the Google Play (Android) and the App Store (Apple). Simply enter “smarta Belege” in the search field.


Download the app and open it by tapping the “Open” button in the respective store.


Login

You can log in using the same credentials you use for the web app.

Simply enter your email address and password.

Please note:
After several incorrect password attempts, your login will be temporarily blocked for up to 30 minutes for security reasons. 🔒


Uploading receipts – three options

You can upload receipts in three different ways:

  • Take a photo (using your camera)

  • Select an image from your gallery

  • Upload a PDF document

Once you choose an option, the upload starts automatically – you don’t need to do anything else. In the following video, we show all three ways to upload receipts:


How do I know if my receipt was uploaded successfully?

Green checkmark = Everything completed.

If you see a small green checkmark next to the receipt, it means:

  • The receipt was uploaded successfully.

  • It has reached us

  • It is being processed automatically

You don’t need to do anything else.

🔴 Red icon = upload still in progress

If you see a red icon:

  • The upload has not been completed yet

Important:
The app will automatically try to upload the receipt again in the background as soon as an internet connection is available. You do not need to start the upload again.


What happens after the upload?

Once the receipt has been uploaded (green checkmark):

  • We have received it

  • It will be processed automatically and assigned to the corresponding transaction

  • If automatic assignment is not possible, it will later appear in your to-dos in the web app

Your overall bookkeeping process remains unchanged.


Can I delete an uploaded receipt?

Yes, but only in the preview (upload preview).

As soon as the green icon is visible, you can no longer delete the receipt yourself. While you are still in the preview, you can delete the receipt using the small red "x" cross (see image below).

Important:


After a successful upload (green checkmark):

  • The receipt can no longer be deleted by you

Important information about document retention

Even if you upload your receipts via the app:

The legal obligation to retain documents remains with you.

Please make sure to store your original receipts properly (physically or digitally in compliance with GoBD regulations).

Frequently asked questions

Can I create a multi-page PDF?

No, it is currently not possible to merge multiple pages into a single PDF directly within the app. We have taken this feedback into account and plan to provide this feature in a future version.

Why can’t I see my receipt in the web app?

If the green checkmark is visible, the receipt has been successfully uploaded.

If it cannot be automatically assigned, you will later find it in your to-dos in the web app.
