What happens to my existing Ageras contract or Kontist banking?

Updated this week

If your smarta plan was previously billed via Ageras in combination with your Kontist business account, things will change starting August 2025.
Here’s what this means for your Ageras contract and banking setup.

Still receiving an invoice from Ageras – but only for banking

Although smarta will fully handle your tax services from August 2025, you will still receive a separate invoice from Ageras GmbH – usually labeled “Banking for smarta”. This invoice only covers the fees for your Kontist banking.

Possible charges related to Kontist banking

Please note: While basic account fees may currently be included, additional bank-related costs may still apply, such as:

  • Direct debit return

  • Change/recall of wire transfer

For exact details, please contact your bank directly.

Tax services now billed through smarta

Starting August 2025, your tax advisory services will be billed directly by smarta – with separate invoices, a separate payment method (e.g. SEPA mandate), and a clear separation from banking services.

Want to use a different bank account?

No problem – smarta works with many types of business accounts.
You can use any account of your choice for ongoing billing.
