How do I create a SEPA direct debit mandate with my tax office (Finanzamt)?

To ensure you don’t miss any deadlines and avoid late fees, we recommend granting your tax office a direct debit authorization for your VAT and income tax payments.

Each federal state has its own form, which you can easily download from your tax office’s website.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Click on your federal state from the list below.

  2. Download the direct debit mandate template.

  3. Fill out the mandate completely.

  4. Print the form and sign it.

  5. Send the original signed document to your tax office.

Some tax offices already offer the option to fill out an online form and/or submit it via email. You can find more information on your respective tax office’s website.

Please note that you must issue a SEPA direct debit mandate for each tax number.
