Are medical expenses considered business expenses?

How can I claim medical expenses on my taxes?

Updated this week

Normally, extraordinary medical expenses are not considered business expenses.

However, there’s an exception: work-related illness. If your condition was caused by your professional activity, you may have a choice.

For the self-employed, it's often better to deduct these costs as a business expense. But be careful – the tax office examines this very closely.

It’s best to get advice from your tax advisor on this matter.
