Interpolate point heights
Interpolate point heights

Here's how you interpolate point heights on a selected line.

Updated over a week ago

Follow these steps to interpolate point heights:

  1. Under the section FUNCTIONS, click on Interpolate point heights.
This function makes it easy for you to create an interpolation for lines.

The function has three different interpolation methods:

    Between start and end points

Maintains the original height at the start and end points, creating a smooth transition between them.

    Between marked points
Functions similarly to between start and end points but retains the original height at each marked point.

    Slope from start point
Used to create a desired slope in % between a start point and an end point on a line.

  2. Choose the interpolation method you want to use from the drop down list.

  3. For the first two methods, start by clicking the Start button.

  4. Select the starting point for the interpolation by clicking on a starting point in your line to be interpolated. The point will turn red, indicating it is a selected starting point and will maintain its height.

  5. If using the Between start and end points method, click on an endpoint in your line. The point will turn red, symbolizing it as your selected endpoint, and the line between start and end will also turn red. The endpoint will also maintain its height.

  6. If using the Between marked points method, click on points in your line where you want their heights to be maintained and finish by clicking on your endpoint. The points where the heights will be maintained will turn red on the line.

  7. Complete the interpolation by clicking Confirm.

  8. If using the Slope from start point method, start by entering a slope in % to be used from the starting point. Then click on an endpoint in your line, marking between which points the slope should be interpolated.

  9. Complete the interpolation by clicking Confirm.
