Takeoff

  1. Wear high-visibility clothing.

  2. Start the transmitter first and then the drone. (If you do it the other way around, the RTH function may, in rare cases, activate because the drone fails to establish contact with the transmitter.)

  3. Power on the camera and ensure all camera settings are correct: still image, video, frame rate (FPS), color system (NTSC/PAL), etc.

  4. Check that remote identification is functioning.

  5. Ensure all control sticks are in the neutral position.

  6. Set up RTH and its altitude if such functionalities exist and check for any error messages.

  7. Manually lift the drone to approximately 5 meters above ground level and let it hover in that position. Listen for any unusual sounds and ensure the controls respond normally and that battery levels are sufficient. Finally, verify that GPS is functioning correctly.

  8. Lift to the planned flight altitude sufficient to clear any lifting cranes, trees, or buildings. Allow the drone to spin in its position. To ensure you are higher than any potential obstacles, they should not obstruct the horizon on the screen while the drone spins. If you do not see any obstacles, the setting is correct. However, if you notice anything higher than the horizon, you should fly up until they no longer obstruct the view. Once you have reached this height, note how high the drone is and adjust the setting to this height.

  9. Manually land the drone.

  10. Activate the programmed route in Map Pilot and allow the drone to begin the flight.
