More and more stores in France now issue their invoices electronically. In that case, the invoice in SkipTax's name is no longer printed: the store sends it directly to SkipTax, and you may only receive a confirmation e-mail.
That's fine. Here is what to do:
1. Ask the store for a paper proof of purchase
At the till, ask for your receipt (or any other paper document listing your items and the amount paid) and keep it.
💡 As usual, give the cashier SkipTax's details so that the electronic invoice is issued to SKIPTAX: see Help asking for a SKIPTAX invoice.
2. Add it to the SkipTax app
Take a clear photo of this receipt and add it to the app like any other purchase (How to add an invoice), before you go through customs. Without this step, the purchase cannot be included in your tax refund.
3. We match it with the electronic invoice
If the electronic invoice has been sent to SkipTax, we match it with your purchase and it will be validated. You have nothing else to send.
⚠️ The app shows a warning on this purchase? Don't worry
For now, the app may show a warning on this purchase, for example because the SkipTax name does not appear on the receipt. Electronic invoicing is brand new and we are still adapting the app to it. As long as the electronic invoice has reached SkipTax, your purchase will be validated.
