This detailed procedure will help you check if your machine is up to date and identify the latest version of the Sam Tool Manager (STM).

📝 Verification & Update Procedure

✅ Step 1: Access the Sam Tool Supervisor (STS)

  • Login: Sign in to STS with your credentials.

  • Navigation: Go to the “SAM TOOL MANAGER Updates” tab to view the available update information.

✅ Step 2: Identify the latest STM version

  • In the update tab, locate and note the latest STM version displayed.

✅ Step 3: Check the version on the machine

  • Physical access: Go to the machine (no badge required).

  • Action: Click on “URAI” in the top left corner of the machine’s screen.

  • Result: The machine label appears → it shows the STM version currently installed.

✅ Step 4: Check the version remotely (if you can’t access the machine physically)

  1. Log back into STS.

  2. Click on “containing”.

  3. Use the URAI number to find your specific containing.

  4. Double-click on it, then go to the “Tracking” tab.

  5. You will see the current software version of the machine.

✅ Step 5: Compare & take action

  • Compare: Match the version found (Step 3 or 4) with the latest version identified in Step 2.

  • Action:

    • If the machine version is up to date → nothing to do 👍

    • If the machine version is older → follow the update instructions from technical support or contact the SAM hotline.

⚙️ STM Update Instructions

  1. Restart the machine using the power button (on the top of the machine).

    • 🟢 Update OK: on restart, a pop-up appears → the STM restarts automatically with the latest version.

    • 🔴 Update NOT OK: after 5 minutes, if the version has not changed → contact the SAM hotline at +33 4 77 92 13 00.
A technician will be able to perform the update remotely, provided the machine is connected to the internet.
