This detailed procedure will help you check if your machine is up to date and identify the latest version of the Sam Tool Manager (STM).
📝 Verification & Update Procedure
✅ Step 1: Access the Sam Tool Supervisor (STS)
Login: Sign in to STS with your credentials.
Navigation: Go to the “SAM TOOL MANAGER Updates” tab to view the available update information.
✅ Step 2: Identify the latest STM version
In the update tab, locate and note the latest STM version displayed.
✅ Step 3: Check the version on the machine
Physical access: Go to the machine (no badge required).
Action: Click on “URAI” in the top left corner of the machine’s screen.
Result: The machine label appears → it shows the STM version currently installed.
✅ Step 4: Check the version remotely (if you can’t access the machine physically)
Log back into STS.
Click on “containing”.
Use the URAI number to find your specific containing.
Double-click on it, then go to the “Tracking” tab.
You will see the current software version of the machine.
✅ Step 5: Compare & take action
Compare: Match the version found (Step 3 or 4) with the latest version identified in Step 2.
Action:
If the machine version is up to date → nothing to do 👍
If the machine version is older → follow the update instructions from technical support or contact the SAM hotline.
⚙️ STM Update Instructions
Restart the machine using the power button (on the top of the machine).
🟢 Update OK: on restart, a pop-up appears → the STM restarts automatically with the latest version.
🔴 Update NOT OK: after 5 minutes, if the version has not changed → contact the SAM hotline at +33 4 77 92 13 00.
A technician will be able to perform the update remotely, provided the machine is connected to the internet.
